Whom to Nominate for an Award
To recognise outstanding achievement in the diverse community of Bolton we have created the Bolton Black and Asian Achievement Awards (BAAA).
This is an opportunity for the community, organisations or individual people to ensure that those who have made an outstanding contribution to the community, or to an individual, should get the recognition they deserve - this is your way of thanking them.
This also promotes and celebrates outstanding practices in Bolton's diverse community.
THE AWARD CATEGORIES
Young People's Award
Do you know someone who is a positive role model for young people and whose achievements or contributions has made a difference?
This individual can have contributed through youth work, education, i.e. school life, work force, community life or voluntary sector work.

Life Achievement Award
This person, throughout their life, will have contributed in the community working to make a difference for African, African/Caribbean, Dual Heritage, Asian and Ethnic minority people in Bolton.

Diversity Award
This person will have contributed in the diverse community of Bolton. There are lots of ways that they could have worked with a diverse range of issues and may have a particular way of getting their message across to the diverse people they work with.

Women's Award
This person will have made a significant contribution in the diverse community of Bolton and continued to work tirelessly for those people.

Sport's Award
This person will have made a significant contribution in a chosen sport of their own and have a positive attitude towards all aspects of sport.

Art Award
This person will have contributed in their chosen field in an art environment,, whether it be in performing arts, drama, entertainment, singing, make-up, wardrobe, behind the scenes, etc. This person can have enhanced their own life, or someone else's life in a positive manner.

Role Model/Mentor of Year Award
This person will be a teacher, lecturer, tutor, group leader or someone who has guided and led young people to achieve, beyond their expectation, through their enthusiasm and belief in the capability of the young, with the correct guidance.

Community Volunteer Award
This person will be a volunteer from the local community who has unceasingly worked, in the background, to help promote the possible opportunities for the Black and Asian population of Bolton.
